Macado’s is opening a new restaurant in Harrisonburg. The new Harrisonburg Macado’s will open in the former Pub location on Neff Avenue in Harrisonburg. UPDATE: The restaurant hopes to open in April of 2012. Construction is continuing and there have been dramatic changes to the property in the last few months reflecting the concept illustrated in the picture to the right. 2nd UPDATE: Construction has resumed with interior finishes the current activity. There is no estimated timeframe for opening, but it appears after two years, a June or July estimate could be reasonable.
The former Pub location at 1950 Deyerle Avenue was purchased in December of 2010. The property will receive a major face lift as part of the the restaurant’s opening.
Existing tenants of the property are expected to be relocated to spaces within the same building, while the restaurant itself will shift to the portion of the property at the corner of Neff and Deyerle Avenue. Two spaces, approximately 1,700sf and 1,400sf, remain available for lease at an expected rate of $8.00/sf.
Macado’s opening will mark it’s eighteenth restaurant. The company has seventeen locations throughout Virginia, West Virginia, and North Carolina.
